Summertime and a refreshing Pepsi go hand in hand, and this year PepsiCo North Division set out to amp up summer for Ohio Pepsi fans even more. Pepsi wanted to help Ohio consumers embrace the beauty and fun waiting for them in their own state. Pepsi teamed up with their trusted partners to help their vision come together with a program that encouraged Ohio residents to get out and explore Ohio all while enjoying a refreshing Pepsi. Using our consultative approach and Consumer Connect system, together with our trusted partners, we were able to gather insights and find solutions to help make this promotion a success. The Pepsi team needed a simple and seamless way to validate entries for their exciting summer program. MRi got to work helping execute the perfect promotion to meet the challenges Pepsi faced.

With the Oh! So Refreshing digital Pepsi Passport program, Pepsi fans can access ‘Only in Ohio’ Pepsi prizes every time they visit their favorite hot spots around the state. From the ballpark, zoo, amusement parks, eateries, and more, fans can pull up PepsiPassport.com and check-in at designated locations to unlock passport stamps. Collect different stamps for a chance to score exclusive weekly rewards, and collect entries for a chance to win an epic grand prize: to explore the winner’s choice of Cincinnati, Columbus, or Cleveland with a refreshing and exclusive experience only Pepsi® can provide. The grand prize getaway includes transportation, dining, lodging and giveaways for the winner and three guests!

With over 200 locations users can check-in to, MRi’s experts knew Pepsi needed a way to accurately and securely validate users’ locations for each entry. Our geofence technology fit the bill, and was exactly what the Pepsi team required. With MRi’s geofence, Pepsi was able to select each location around the state (such as sports venues / zoos / museums) to have users visit. As an added bonus, foodservice clients such as Skyline Chili and Mr. Hero were able to participate and all their locations around the state were geofenced!  Geofence was the perfect way to drive traffic to these locations all summer long, where users can enjoy a refreshing Pepsi beverage & participate in the program.

In addition, MRi’s digital team put together an exciting and informative promotional website that was fully integrated with our geofence technology, so users had the most seamless and frustration-free experience possible!
