Sodastream aimed to capitalize on the extensive Amazon consumer base to boost sales and leverage the buzz around the Mountain Dew Always On Gaming promotion. They wanted to give consumers the ability to purchase the product, enter codes, and receive rewards exclusive to the Sodastream Mtn Dew product. A first for the brand, and they sought out the assistance from the MRi team to bring over 20 years of experience working in the PepsiCo system and directly with production suppliers.
On-pack labels were identified as the best way to offer a unique code to consumers. They would purchase the product from Amazon, and when the package arrived, allow the consumers to see a label and peel away to reveal 4 unique codes for the program. In a first for the brand, MRi recognized that we needed to fully prepare and vet a new supplier, communicate the standard security procedures for managing data and unique codes, and ensure the quality was maintained during the entire production process.
In a concerted effort, MRi worked tirelessly to integrate a new supplier into the PepsiCo production process. Despite a new partnership for Sodastream, MRi ensured a flawless delivery of the promotional codes by closely collaborating with the printer. This included rigorous testing and a comprehensive understanding of the printing process, distribution logistics, and product security.

Results
Sodastream had a huge starting advantage when products started becoming available on the market and consumers started redeeming points, at which point the average percentage of the Sodastream program over the overall program was at 60%!
Our meticulous approach paid off, instilling immense confidence in the brand. So much so, that Sodastream promptly extended the use of this supplier beyond the Amazon initiative to an on-site event. Here, participants had the opportunity to engage in the program and win exciting prizes, all while the promotion was at its peak!
This initiative not only highlighted our company’s dedication to seamless execution but also underscored our ability to innovate and adapt swiftly, making us shine as a leader in the industry.
In-game prizing updates, around week 12 of the current program, potentially led to sharp increase in new user sign-ups and redemption for the program. Added users and redemption rate has stayed at more elevated levels since then.
