Starry® is the newest flavor launched by PepsiCo with a crisp clear burst of lemon lime flavor. Leveraging the success from the Nitro Pepsi x Walmart program, MRi, PepsiCo, and the Walmart teams put together another digital sampling program. Digital ads were placed on walmart.com to drive consumers to an MRi developed landing page, where they can unlock an exclusive offer for a Digital gift card redeemable for a free Starry® product of their choice.
The digital gift cards were sent directly to a users mobile device where they could add to their digital wallet and pull up right in-store to scan at the register. The program started with 65,000 digital cards, and due to popularity and exposure awarded them so fast that another 22,000 were added so consumers could continue taking advantage during the late Spring and early Summer months. And again, after seeing how well this was doing, PepsiCo and Walmart – yet again – added another 50,000. The Starry® brand also harnessed the power of TikTok, creating a special commercial to air and click to go directly to the promotional site.
